Shopping Trip: Sur La Table

IMG_3691

I receive catalogs from Sur La Table every month and this month it included a lovely ‘$15 off your next purchase’ coupon. And the best part – no minimum purchase.

Sur La Table is one of my favorite cooking stores and I always enjoy shopping there. I had been eyeing a few items for a while now, but could never convince myself that I actually need them. The coupon gave me a little encouragement to finally purchase them.

The first item I purchased was this Chef’n Hullster Tomato Corer: $9.95

Which will hopefully be super helpful this summer when I’ll core too many tomatoes to count. I haven’t tested it yet, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work wonderfully.

The second item I purchased was this Chef’n Zipstrip Herb Stripper: $7.95

Once again, I’m hoping this will help out a ton this summer. Two of my favorite herbs are rosemary and thyme, but it is so time consuming to pick each leaf off the stems. I noticed that the online reviews were excellent, so I think this will be a great addition to my kitchen.

The last item I purchased is this Kuhn Rikon Paring Knife: $3.99

I found this knife randomly in the sale section of the store, these knifes are normally around $9.95 each. I’ve had a zebra stripped one for a couple years now and absolutely love it, so when I saw this one was on sale I had to get it. I find these useful for slicing tomatoes; they just glide right through and make it easy to get a super thin slice.

I was very pleased with my purchases and wanted to show everyone how much of a deal I got. I ended up paying a total of $7.44 for everything by taking advantage of my coupon and sales. If I didn’t have a coupon the total would have been $21.89+tax; and without the coupon or sales it would have been $27.85+tax.

I always get asked how I have so many cooking and baking tools and this is how; I always take advantage of sales and coupons. I actually bought my pizza pan from Sur La Table with the same type of coupon and only paid around $5.00. Bed Bath & Beyond also have great coupons and if you are looking for kitchen supplies, it’s a great place to look.

I hope you enjoyed this post, please feel free to leave a question or comment. If you would like to see ‘how-to use’ posts or reviews on these products, please let me know! Enjoy your day!
